Cirque Dreams

So tonight I am taking a very special someone here tonight and I am very excited about it. This person and I have been spending a lot of time together lately but there always seems to be a complication with me and women and this one is no exception. I like her a lot and the feeling is mutual but unfortunately for me I was recently made her supervisor. Relationships between supervisors and their subordinates is a big no no in the military so everything to this point has been kept on the DL. In reality we haven't done anything but that's not the perception that people will have if they find out how much time we have been spending together. This problem could easily be fixed but she doesn't want to change supervisors. I am not sure if she thinks the other supervisors are out to get her or something but that is what she told me the last time we talked about it. I mean if I wanted to be a dick I could just say that I don't want to be her supervisor anymore but something tells me that wouldn't put me in her good graces. I swear I feel like I am in high school.

The Past Two Weeks

So since my last post things have been somewhat busy for me.

My chain of command finally realized that my time here is almost up and now they are in panic mode trying to get me to stay in. They even put me in charge of the section that I am in which includes 2 other first classes. One of those first classes used to be in charge of the section and is retiring later this year and let me tell you he doesn't like the fact that they have put him underneath me since I have been underneath him for over a year now. They think that this is going to make me want to stay in. Little do they know their efforts are too little too late. If I choose to stay in at this point it's because my brother has convinced me that he is going to enlist in the Navy and if that's the case I would love to get stationed at the same base as him.

So outside of the Navy I have been enjoying my last few months here. I went to the annual Kokua Festival here on the 19th which featured the first time that Dave Matthews and Jack Johnson shared the same stage so that was pretty cool. Tomorrow night I am being dragged to a Jason Mraz concert. I'm not worried about the music but the company I am going to be with. You see the girl I am going with everyone is saying has a crush on me (which I am inclined to agree with them) but she is married. Don't get this twisted though, even if she wasn't married there would be nothing going on between the two of us. She just isn't the kind of girl I can see myself with longer than a week, if that. Now that her husband is on deployment I hope she doesn't try anything stupid.

Last week there was a going away party for one of the girls that is leaving our command this week at a night club. Damn near everyone at our job showed up at the party and we all had a good time. I was lucky enough to be accompanied by Ronisha and her cousin but I learned that people just can't mind their own business and rumors are being spread about me and this girl Rena that I work with. The rumors are not true (although I wish they were lol) but she turned me down and I have moved on since then. It's sad to see that other people who have no idea what is going on can't.

Yesterday I got all four of my wisdom teeth pulled out yesterday and now I am recovering from that. To tell you the truth it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. I have seen people who had their teeth pulled and they were just messes so I am relieved that mine hasn't caused me any problems yet. I wasn't worried though because I knew that I was in good hands. Ronisha was nice enough to take care of me after the surgery. I am not sure what is going on between the two of us right now but I am definitely liking it. More to follow on that on...

A New Beginning

I have decided to give this blogging thing another try. I don't have much else to do these days so I figured why not.

A run through of some things that have happened since I last posted (in no particular order).

I finally quit playing FFXI for that last time. I know you are not too happy about that one Matt but oh well it was something that I had to do for myself.

I flew my brother out here this past February for the Pro Bowl and we had a blast. I have pictures and videos to prove it but some of them are G-14 classified sorry.

I was promoted last year to Petty Officer First Class.

Recently I decided to step out of character and attempted the girlfriend thing. Yeah that didn't go so well. I know I know........maybe next time.

In January of last year I traded in my Expedition for a brand new Maxima.

My last trip to Chicago I got in touch with my family from my dad's side. I hadn't seen any of them in well over 10 years so that was nice.

I have moved twice since living on this island and now I am living on my own again. I found out the roommate thing is probably not for me.

I have lost somewhere between 35-40 lbs since I have been here in Hawaii.

There are probably some other things that I am forgetting about atm but oh well. Now let's see how long I can keep this blog up this time.
