I can't go to sleep.

I've been sort of out of it lately and I tend to not blog at all when I'm feeling like shit. It yields really bad reading, trust me. I always get like that around my birthday, which was a couple weeks ago (15 Aug). The other byproduct of the blues for me is spending alot of fucking money. I've been told I'm a hard person to shop for. I guess I can't argue with that 'cause I buy evertything I want myself for the most part. I picked up Dracula DS and Jump Super Stars just this past week. One out of neccesity and one out of sheer curiosity.

Jump Super Stars is selling like crack; 250k in two weeks, last I checked and I wanted to see what all the fuss is about. The game has hundreds of characters and shit but I'm mainly interested in the multiplayer. While I doubt it'll serve as the DS answer to SSBM, just unlocking shit should keep me busy for awhile.

I haven't been able to spend much time with Castlevania but I'm a big fan of Aria of Sorrow and having been salivating over screenshots of this game since it was announced it's nice to finally have my mitts on it. I've only ran across one boss yet, but the stylus aspect seems pretty haphazardly tacked on for the fuck of it. Other than that I'm liking it so far.

I found an out-of-print soundtrack I've been looking for for years via Amazon. I've been saying for years that Michael Giacchino puts most cinematic composers to shame (now everyone's saying it) and Medal of Honor: Underground's soundtrack is one of the reason's why. I'm tempted to say it's his best work but his work on Frontline surpasses it a bit, although it's readily available, Underground's is very rare. It's really sad that Dreamworks ended up getting absorbed by EA like so many other developers, 'cause they sapped all the reverence out of the series and turned it into a cash cow. WWII games are like a genre unto themselves now.

Dear Summer.

It's August, and the Cubs are derailing right on schedule. Last year, they waited 'til September to do it, and the year before they did it in Game 6 of the freaking NLCS. So I guess in that respect I should be thankful.

I haven't much else to say lately. Don't really have time to. It's training cycle season and shit's so ridiculous around here I bet I shave at least a month off of my life daily from stress alone. It ends now, however. I've got enough things working against my life expectancy.

I eat galley food.
I'm black.
And I'm in the military.

So save the drama for your mama.

In other news, we've got a big feature coming up at GL. Since the drama subsided things have admittedly been trickling out at a slower pace than we'd like but there's already more involvement from the staff on this joint than anything we've done in the past. I think we're done playing "JUSTIFY YOUR GAME!" in the staff forum so the fruits of our labor will be front page fodder sooner than later. Also, the first volume of Logikal Banter is up. Take a gander and tell the boys and girls at GL BT sent ya'.

From the G-Unit, with love:
