So I come up to watch today and "J" comes up to me grinning...

She hasn't been talking to me much at all lately so I knew it had to be something important...

Anyway, she tells me she finally found some orders she liked. Some training squadron outta China Lake or something.

Really, the significance of the event isn't where she's going at all but the fact that I'm still undecided on whether I'm even staying in or not, much less where I'm gonna go if I do in fact re-up. I've been talking to CassaJ alot about it lately (via AIM 'cause we're underway), among other things... But really, it's all irrelevant 'cause she told me months ago:

"You're staying in and everyone knows it but you..."

...and that's pretty much been in the back of my mind ever since...

I have some version of the short-timers syndrome... or maybe every iteration of it... all at the same time and I can't sort it all out to make a damn decision and it's making me feel like I'm falling behind...

...which quite frankly scares the shit out of me.

This underway period (putting it midly) as of now has been absolutely fruitless.

I've hardly touched my CCNA book.

Satan... Err, I mean, Commo, secured our internet access.

And Nintendo, without consulting me beforehand, announced the most puzzling piece of hardware in gaming history.

Jerks.

So...

I know, it's been a while.

A lot has happened since my last post.

I moved out of Cell Block 70 with Lamstar. Sedonia transferred. Sunny transferred. Sands transferred. I had a rather uneventful "holiday season"...

"J" got an engagement ring from Mr.Perfecto... which she made a big deal about. Dunno why 'cause she's been engaged for months now...

LT Smiley, AKA Double "O" Dumbass, took over as Commo when LT Joiner transferred.

Basically, same old shit - only a shade worse.

We get underway in less than 48 hours and there has never been a more suffocationg aura of chaos preceding an underway period. It's mostly due to the number of "new" personnel we have. "New" being anyone that was not in our shack from the beginning of last deployment.

Let's look at the roster shall we?

Ese: Ese's my boy, 'nuff said.

J. Harris: Very cool. Reminds me alot of myself. Thought he was a rock when I met him. Kinda f'ed up 'cause I'm usually a good judge of things like this.

IT1 Maddox: Maddox is a gamer. Strange. That's the only redeeming quality I've come to find about this guy. He's my boss though, so I guess there's some unwritten rule that I'm not allowed to like him.

Gonzo: Gonzo is a die-hard Chicago sports fan. Instant approval from me. Next.

Nwosu: White Sox fan. I have to make an exception for this guy. What can I say? He aiight...

LT Smiley: This one's broke. Send it back.

Chaney: I can't read this guy. Somethin' tells me the next month will reveal all I need to know 'bout this one though.

I just finished a week long router class. They sent me with Chaix of all people.

Anyway, it was a good excuse to finally get certified so I'll probably work on that while we're underway... Along with my new project.

I was planning on doing both with Mo, but I dunno how feasable that's gonna be since he's on days with G-Man, and I'm on nights with Maddox. He and "J" are on days so I'm gonna be at loss for serious conversation.

Speaking of which. The closer I get to getting out/transferring the more horrified I get at the thought of possibly not seing them everyday. I was thinking of maybe doing the Guam thing, 'cause both of them are leaning t'wards that and how cool would it be if all three of us ended up there? But maybe a new start is just what I need.
