Cubs win! Cubs win! Cubs win!

Fourteen long years... The lovable losers have won the pennant. After getting rained out yesterday, the Cubs played the Pirates in a doubleheader in which the Cubs won both, clinching the Central Division title after the 'Stros dropped a must-win against the Brewers. Life is good.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch:
I woke up today to find the Sac' parked next to us. The weather's been so nice since we got back, which is really bazaar, considering abysmal weather always follows the Vinson. I've been looking for a place to stay, other than Cell Block 70. I found a sweet deal around here, which is perfect in price for me and the location is very good, considering it's so close to the ferry and PSNS. Lam' is supposed to be rooming with me. Possibly P'Mo too but that one's sorta up in the air.

So yeah, we're back and stuff... You'll have to excuse my lack of zeal for pulling in after eight months of deployment. There was a lot of fanfare prior to and during our homecoming - none of which really applied to me. Everyone was claiming,"Cheer up, we're going home." They couldn't be more wrong. I wasn't trying to crash anyones party so I was really trying to avoid certian people (.:cough:."J".:cough:.) lest I be chastised for not being happy. It's nice being inport, but I don't mind being underway either. I'll see less of people I don't want to see... and less of people I hang with. Squeaks put on Khakis. What a joke. He was around when we pulled in. I'm glad I missed 'im...

I heard from CassaJ recently. I had it bad for her in "A" school, worse than I've maybe had it for any girl. We kinda fell out shortly after I got to Washington. I went through some serious separation anxiety over it but you live and learn. We hung out a little bit last summer while I was in Everett. We caught a Cubs game @ SafeCo and it almost felt like we were back in school again, though I didn't want to admit it, 'cause it kinda brought back things I didn't want to think about. She stopped talking to me for a while and I thought I did something wrong 'cause she stopped answering my IMs. Guess it was just me being paranoid... again...

"J" turns 21 t'day. She was supposed to be on duty but she swapped to get the day off... Wise. I got her a $100 gift certificate to Alloy... It sounds... impersonal, I know, but that was my intent... Go figure...
